Record On The NVIDIA SHIELD Again With New Update

The  NVIDIA SHIELD is bringing back the recording functionality that was lost with the Android Oreo update. Shield owners who have been avoiding the update and bemoaning the loss of functionality can breathe a sigh of relief with the announcement and get on board with the new features.

The Shield console is marketed as both a streaming media player and gaming machine that integrates console games and the ability to play PC games on the tv screen by utilizing existing gaming PCs and the console at the same time. The update, one of 20 software updates that the company has put out since launching the Shield console in 2015, will bring a lot of desktop-like changes to the system with gamers in mind. This includes In-game voice chat support – for communicating in top GeForce NOW games like Fortnite – with headsets connected to the 3.5mm headset jack on SHIELD controllers. Who wants to just play a first-person shooter if they can’t rub it in when they snipe someone.

Another very PC like upgrade with be improved keyboard and mouse support in GeForce NOW.

The update shows that Nvidia is sticking to its roots in gaming and performance while still keeping an eye on the connected TV environment.
