Comcast May Buy Vizio

Reporting by Protocol indicates that Comcast could be trying to get into the TV business on the ground level with industry insiders telling the publication that the Cable company has been considering a purchase of the TV manufacturer , Vizio.

Vizio, which is known for its budget smart TVs has its own operating system at the moment, but it is expected that the move to buy the company would be meant to help spread the Peacock and NBC Universal owners own operating system currently found on XClass TVs by Hisense.

Smart TVs are becoming more important in the streaming space as they get easier to use and integrate multiple features such as embedded free Ad-supported content that is often built right into the system as a choice. The report also indicated that Comcast may also target TP Vision, owner of Philips  in Europe.
