TikTok Suspending Service In Russia

Social media streaming app TickTock is suspending service in Russia over the invasion of the Ukraine. The service is probably more popular with younger citizens of the country then say the political and military leadership, but the move follows numerous major tech companies who have also stopped providing services and products to the aggressor in an unprovoked war.

“In light of Russia’s new ‘fake news’ law, we have no choice but to suspend livestreaming and new content to our video service while we review the safety implications of this law,” TikTok said on its official Twitter account.

“Our in-app messaging service will not be affected,” it added.
