Chuck Todd will meet the world of streaming head on this September when Peacock and NBC News Now start streaming Todd at the helm.
Variety is reporting that starting in September the show should be going strong in place as the presidential election approaches. Chuck Todd could become the Walter Cronkite of cord-cutters. Ok, we won’t go that far. As a journalist, I know that Chuck Todd and Walter Kronkite don’t belong in the same sentence, but Todd will be in place to become a voice of record for an audience that may not take in new via Cable or antenna depending on where they live.
Is this a promotion or demotion for Todd? Well, he is losing his late afternoon time slot and Nicole Wallace is getting two hours from 4:00-6:00 pm. Todds Show MTP Daily will move to 1pm. The move is believed to be an attempt to shift towards the future of TV which seems to lie more with streaming than cable.
