Amazon Prime Video rolled out some major news today regarding existing original shows that are sure to catch the eye of discerning fans.
The Expanse
The everything store announced it has ordered a fifth season of the fan favorite science fiction series The Expanse, ahead of its fourth season premiere. Season Four of the Hugo Award-winning series The Expanse will premiere on Friday, December 13, 2019, exclusively on Amazon Prime Video in more than 200 countries and territories worldwide.
Season 4 of The Expanse, its first as a global Amazon Original, begins a new chapter for the series with the crew of the Rocinante on a mission from the U.N. to explore new worlds beyond the Ring Gate.
The Hugo award winning series, based on the hugely popular science fiction novels by James S.A. Corey, was developed and scripted by the Academy Award nominated writing duo Mark Fergus and Hawk Ostby who executive produce season 4 along with Naren Shankar, Andrew Kosove, Broderick Johnson, Laura Lancaster, Sharon Hall, Sean Daniel, Jason Brown, Daniel Abraham, Ty Franck and Dan Nowak. Shankar serves as showrunner for all seasons. The Expanse season 4 is produced by Alcon Television Group.

Set to stream exclusively on Amazon Prime Video in over 200 countries and territories worldwide., it has already been awarded a second season.
Finally, Amazon Studios announced today that it has ordered an eight-episode season of the exciting new series The Banker’s Wife, based on the best-selling novel by Cristina Alger. Meredith Stiehm (Homeland) will write all eight episodes, with award-winning director Lesli Linka Glatter (Homeland, Now and Then) directing all eight.
The Banker’s Wife is a high-stakes international thriller set in the world of global finance, from Geneva to Paris, London and New York, about two women racing for answers when a mysterious plane crash sets them off on parallel pursuits of truth. As they shine a light on hidden offshore accounts meant to be kept in the dark, the pair will become embedded in the crosshairs of danger within a larger conspiracy of money laundering, powerful politicians and a web of terrorists and criminals, thus transforming their lives forever.
