Apple To Bid For Premier League Streaming Rights – The Streaming Advisor

Apple To Bid For Premier League Streaming Rights

According to reporting from reports in the Daily Mail Apple is looking to target the streaming rights for the English Premier League. The move follows Apple locking up exclusive streaming rights for the US-based Major League Soccer. The Premier League is the most well-known European soccer league and features the biggest names in the sport but it may be more affordable for Apple than the supposedly failed bid for NFL Sunday Ticket.

Apple TV+ has been targeting sports in general for the past year locking up a deal for a Friday night baseball game with MLB. Apple will likely be competing with Sky Sports, which has held the rights to the English Premier League since 1992. Its deal also allows competing streaming service Peacock to stream Premier League games.

Sky Sports is not likely to let the rights go without a fight as Premier League Futbol is one of the most popular properties in the world.
