WIth the next incarnation of the Suicide squad set for theaters in August 2021 HBO Max is already setting up to cash in on what it hopes will be a breakout character in the film. John Cena’s Peace Maker. Cena described the character along the lines of a darker version of Captain America with a less sensitive personality. The character description sounds not unlike Marvel’s Punisher. His character is an anti hero that wants peace at all cost, no matter how many people he has to kill. Gee I wonder why it isn’t slated for the CW?
The series will be a short 8 episodes long but if the next incarnation of the Suicide Squad finally knocks the cap off of the DC Universe once and for all fans should expect more. At the DC Comics Fandome creators talked about HBO Max being like a playground for the DC Universe that could bridge gaps between the properties. With the coming Snyder Cut of The Justice League and more on the way it looks like HBO Max will be a home to a pretty hefty library.
