How To Stream The 2024 Democratic National Convention

The Democratic National Convention is starting today with four days of speeches which will lead to the formal nomination of Kamala Harris and Tim Walz. On top of that there are rumors of superstar musical performances. Who knows. If you want to see the convention in whole the good news is that it is stunningly easy to do so. Usually, I would tout major broadcast networks as a choice for cordcutters but you will not find much coverage of the event on CBS, NBC etc

Free Ways To Watch The Democratic National Convention

You can start and end your search with YouTube. If you want to see the convention from gavel to gavel you will find numerous feeds on YouTube. The PBS YouTube feed has proven to be a great source for live campaign speeches on both sides of the election. What you get from a YouTube feed is the main TV feed without commentary. This is a very different experience than you find on cable news which comes packed with multi-anchor coverage often talking over speakers that they deem less important.

Free Streaming services

Pluto TV, Plex, Tubi, and Xumo Play all have free national news organization feed from organizations like ABC News, NBC News, USA Today, and more. They will have anchors and studio setups like traditional TV Networks.

Paid Services

I can’t imagine many people would be willing to add a premium streaming service just for the four-day DNC. But if you are someone who can’t picture a convention unless you see it through the lens of Rachel Maddow, Anderson Cooper or Sean Hannity, then you can totally do so if you sign up for Sling TV, Hulu with Live TV or YouTube TV. Just understand this is signing up for a TV package that will cost at least $45.00 a month. Those services will give you the slant that you prefer all day and all night.
