Amazon’s free streaming app IMDB TV will be available on a number of new platforms as the company expands the scope of its ad-supported TV and movie service. IMDB TV began as an exclusive to its Fire TV-based products but has recently been appearing on products from other manufacturers and platforms. IMDb TV, Amazon’s premium free streaming service, announced today that the IMDb TV app is now available on LG Smart TVs (2018-2021 models) including LG OLED TVs, PlayStation 4 consoles, NVIDIA SHIELD and TiVo Stream 4K in the U.S.
The expanded distribution follows recent IMDb TV app launches on Roku, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Sony Android TV devices and Chromecast with Google TV. In addition to third party devices, IMDb TV is available as an app on Fire TV and a free Channel within the Prime Video and IMDb apps across hundreds of devices.
Not just reruns
IMDb TV features Originals from the award-winning Amazon Studios, including the upcoming true-crime docu-series, Moment of Truth, which premieres April 2, and the recently launched sports docu-series Top Class: The Life and Times of the Sierra Canyon Trailblazers. The free streaming service also features an extensive and always updating library of hit movies and television including popular favorites such as Project Blue Book, Hart of Dixie and Chicago Fire and blockbuster movies such as Arrival, Mary Queen of Scots and The Lincoln Lawyer.
Additional Originals coming to IMDb TV include the recently announced Bosch spinoff, the crime drama Leverage: Redemption, the second season of the popular spy thriller Alex Rider, and the Untitled Judge Judy Sheindlin Project — the streaming debut for no-nonsense, expeditious Judge Sheindlin and her signature adjudication style.
