Sony Pictures’ “Spider-Man” spinoff Morbius, newly available to rent on Vudu, tops the streaming chart on Fandango’s streaming service for the week of June 13th through June 19th. Also returning among top titles on the Vudu list this week, Sony Pictures’ Uncharted, with “Spider-Man” star Tom Holland, ranks as the #2 movie, while Spider-Man: No Way Home lands as the #16 title.
Morbius has had an interesting run in pop culture this year. After being featured in trailers for seemingly every action movie that was released for 18 months the film debuted to lackluster reviews. It became a viral meme which even led Sony to re-release it in the theater. It didn’t do well that time either. Yet as a home rental it seems to be finding its footing. Good for Morbius. You will love the scene where he says it’s time to Morb out!
Thanks to fans catching up at home before heading to theaters for the latest blockbusters, 2018’s Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom and the original 1986 Top Gun are still going strong on Vudu, ranking as the #19 and #20 titles, respectively, on the streaming list. Meanwhile, Vudu’s two best-selling bundles are currently the Top Gun 2-Movie Collection (offering a preorder of Maverick), and the Jurassic 5-Movie Collection.
