The British streaming scene will get a major new player this year when ITV drops its free streaming service, ITVX. The service is powered by ITV
It will be home to thousands of boxsets, an ever-changing library of movies and will also see new exclusive series added on a weekly basis.
Like Peacock in the US the free service comes by way of ad-support. Users who subscribe to a paid version will be able to view content without ads and get access to Brit Box, a streaming service from ITV and BBC that has tons of British hit series =. Britbox is available to American audiences on all major streaming platforms.
ITV will be the latest major media company to get into the FAST (Free Ad-Supported Streaming Service) market that is expanding access to high quality programming to those savvy enough to explore the streaming space.
