New options for NBA League Pass will allow fans to subscribe to one team and purchase individual games
Bloombeeg News Reported last week that the NBA’s OTT service, League Pass will begin offering fans new options next season which will include the ability to subscribe to one specific team for a season and even purchase specific games a la carte without purchasing a full $200.00 per season package.
Where Can I View The Service
The a la carte style options are being offered via desktops, tablets, and mobile phones. On the other hand the full NBA League Pass is currently available through a number of set-top boxes, and via phones tablets and PC’s as well as cable companies.
Will my cable company let me use this option
If they do not it may be to their detriment. Considering what a driver sports has long been for standard cable packages the ability to personalize viewing in this manner points towards a more choice driven model for live sports delivery.
How much will NBA a la carte cost?
Details are not known at this point though Bloomberg quoted TV Industry consultant Jimmy Schaeffler who guessed $50.00-$100.00 for one team per season (seems kind of steep compared to ($200.00 for every team) and $2.00-$5.00 per game, which would be a real bargain for those who do not watch every game faithfully.
