The rumored arrangement between the NFL and Netflix is official. The streamer will host two NFL games this Christmas and at least one December 25 matchup in 2025 and 2026. The deal, whose specifics were not announced will be the service’s first chance at an NFL game.
The specifics of how it will work have not been announced but since Netflix does not have its own NFL play by play team our guess is that the company will partner with another entity for production and actual broadcasting. Amazon used to partner with the NFL Network to stream its Thursday night games before building up a full studio and announcing team.
Similar to its arrangments with other streaming services, the Christmas 2024 games will also air on broadcast TV in the competing teams’ cities, and will also be available on mobile devices via NFL+.
More details including the 2024 matchups will be announced later.
