The service is Launching today on Samsung TV Plus and tomorrow on LG Channels powered by XUMO, including Channels Plus-enabled models, sports fans can catch event coverage, news, behind-the-scenes and exclusive programming through fubo Sports Network. The significance of the Samsung and LG integration is that XUMO is a built in TV option right along side of antenna based OTA signals as apposed to a totally separate app. The Xumo App for Roku and Fire TV on the other hand does offer the fubo Sports network as well. The network soft launched in June with distribution on XUMO and in fuboTV’s Standard base package. Additional distribution partners will be announced.
The service will not be a substitute for the fuboTV app. But instead serves as a go between offering content that may have been lost in the fray. We jumped on at 3:00 today and found cycling coverage. We should expect the kinds of events covered to grow over time though as sports are just about the only dependable programming platform that seems to drive the needle week-to-week.
