Roku will further expand its US television partner scope with a newly announced deal with Sharp. Sharp has been a name in the TV manufacturing world for decades and will be the 13th TV partner for Roku in the US. Sharps new smart TVs for 2022 will feature the Roku operating system that has defined the company for a decade.
More TV’s in the US have the Roku OS than any other platform. The system is popular because it is straightforward and easy to pick up on even for new users. While the TVs are often referred to as Roku TVs they are truly Roku powered. This is because Roku itself does not make TVs. It licenses its platform to established companies.

Roku powered TVs have a wonderful feature that puts HDMI ports front and center on the home screen of the TV instead of burying them somewhere in settings. The ports instead appear at the top of the TV screen alongside streaming apps. Users who connect an antenna to the TV’s will have a direct window to the free HD signals that beam in over the air and the ability to integrate Roku’s live streaming TV channels into the lineup.
Keep an eye out for Sharp TVs featuring Roku’s grid as the year rolls on. Sharp Roku TV models will be available in 2022, including a series of HD and 4K UHD models. More information on specs and availability should be shared in coming months.
