New Chromecast Remote Won’t Need Batteries

Google is expected to roll out another version of its Chromecast with advanced features. One of those could be a remote control that does not need batteries. This would be a true step up for the Chromecast considering that its first iteration did not even have a remote control.

According to Tech Radar, the remote for Google’s next device has what is called a photovoltaic panel. This means that the device is powered by light and could have the ability to self-charge. If that is the case it would be of great convenience to anybody with the new device letting them avoid even having to plug it in and recharge.
