Vudu Giving Failed Summer Movies Second Life – The Streaming Advisor

Vudu Giving Failed Summer Movies Second Life

Movies that didn’t do well in the theaters have continued to be popular on-demand for Vudu. Though not all of the top 10 is made up of box office busts, it sure seems like audiences chose to wait until it was less expensive and or more convenient to see some films that have come out in 2022. Looking at the number 3-5 highest revenue earners on Vudu highlights Fantastic Beasts (The Secrets of Dumbledore), The Unbearable Weight Of Massive Talent, and Morbius. The three movies had terribly underwhelming runs on the big screen with Morbius hilariously doing an encore just to get ignored with everyone zoomed in. But when the movies are available for rent at home, those looking to find something new are giving failed titles a new life. Not to say that everything on Vudu’s top ten list underperformed. Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, which is now also streaming on Disney+ has grossed over 400 million so far, and The Bad Guys was sort of a surprise hit early this summer season. But its hard not to notice the movies that went unseen on the chart.

Vudu’s top ten titles for the past week, in terms of revenue, are as follows:

  1. Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness
  2. The Bad Guys
  3. Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore
  4. The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent
  5. Morbius
  6. Sonic the Hedgehog 2
  7. Firestarter
  8. Uncharted
  9. Everything Everywhere All at Once
  10. Last Seen Alive
