What’s New On Roku OS 14

Roku’s latest operating system will launch with the updated Roku Ultra. The Ultra will be the first model to get the latest update followed by other Roku devices and TVs over time.

Spotlight on kids content

One change includes adding the Kids & Family zone to the Roku home screen, with quick access to a newly expanded content library of more than 50,000 titles, from popular streaming apps across the platform. age range, genre, and series. The kids section breaks down into categories like Animated Movies, Characters, Sibling Special, Teen
Movies & TV.

New ratings system

Roku offers thousands of TV shows, movies, podcasts and other ways to entertain yourself. But until now, Roku had no way to personalize the selections available. The new OS provides a rating system where by if a user gives content a thumbs up Roku will look for more content like or related to the show or movie. This will make the Roku itself more like the individual apps that it delivers. This will help users find content that they may enjoy and let them spend more time watching something they might enjoy instead of ceaselessly hunting for content.

New dynamic voice controls

As a result of a recent Harris Poll survey* Roku learned that 60% of smart TV viewers say
having to manually update their smart TV’s settings, like updating their display, apps, or
Internet connections is frustrating.
With OS 14 If you want to customize your home screen, just say, “Customize my home screen,” and Roku will open the home screen settings page, where you can adjust as you please.

Viewers can use Roku Voice to quickly access settings for screensavers, wallpapers,
system updates, guest mode, screen mirroring, system language, and more. Roku Voice is
both powerful and built for streaming, making it easy for you to control your TV.
