The entire Star Trek TV franchise preceding the shows that have launched via CBS All-Access/Paramount+ has had a home on Netflix for quite some time. But Trek fans might have noticed that some of the shows from the franchise are no longer available via the big red machine. Contracts run out at some point and Netflix did not renew the rights. Netflix prefers to have exclusive streaming rights for shows and movies. Because of this fans should prepare to see other Trek shows drop off the service as well.
As of today Star Trek Enterprise and Star Trek’s original series known to fans as “TOS” are both available in full with Paramount+ but the entire TV franchise can be streamed with Amazon Prime Video and Hulu. Amazon Prime and Hulu now have every episode of every Star Trek series prior to the debut of Star Trek Discovery.
The Star Trek shows on Hulu and Prime include:
- Star Trek
- Star Trek The Next Generation
- Star Trek Deep Space 9
- Star Trek Voyager
- Star Trek Enterprize
Two sets of Star Trek movies also live on Hulu, at the moment exclusively. The Star Trek movies available on Hulu include:
TOS Movies
- Star Trek The Motion Picture
- Star Trek The Wrath of Khan
- Star Trek The Search For Spock
- Star Trek The Voyage Home
- Star Trek The Final Frontier
- Star Trek The Undiscovered Country
TNG Movies - Star Trek Generations
- Star Trek First Contact
- Star Trek Insurrection
- Star Trek Nemesis
Paramount+ is the home of a number of other Star Trek properties including:
- Star Trek TOS
- Star Trek Enterprise
- Star Trek The Animated Series
- Star Trek Discovery
- Star Trek Picard
- Star Trek Lower Decks
- (Upcoming) Star Trek Strange New Worlds
The new generation of Star Trek movies (Known as the Kelvin Timeline) launched by JJ Abrams is a little more all over the map at the moment of this article. While all of the other Star Trek content is available via subscription services the newer movies do not have permanent streaming homes at the moment.
- Star Trek 2009 is available on-demand through multiple providers including Amazon, Vudu, Redbox
- Star Trek Into Darkness is Available On Paramount+
- Star Trek Beyond is available on Hulu and Paramount+
If you are a Star Trek fan who wants to be able to work their way through the entire history of the Star Trek mainline universe then what you need is Hulu and Paramount+. These two services will give viewers every Star Trek show ever made along with every Star Trek movie that takes place in what would otherwise be considered the mainstream universe that started with William Shatner in the 1960s.
