Sling TV, a company that has been in many ways the innovator, took a page from the pay TV industry it regularly decries as well as its competition. The company is rolling out a grid-based program guide (Starting with Android TV) along with its original thematic interface. The new grid is not much of a departure from the norm, but as I’m sure Hulu is going to find out, the public does not like venturing too far away from the norm. Sling TV’s DVR users will be able to set up recordings from the grid as well as of course play content as they discover it.
PlayStation Bue and ATT DirecTV Now have supported programming grids since launch.
