Amazon Partnering With Nielsen For TNF – The Streaming Advisor

Amazon Partnering With Nielsen For TNF

Amazon may not typically report just how many people watch a given show, much less its entire lineup but for its big NFL Football investment, it is going totally old school. The company is partnering with Nielson to gather ratings info for the all-new Thursday Night Football broadcast.

The agreement, which is set for three years allows the streaming service to be included in Nielsen’s National TV measurement service. The move will bolster Amazon’s ability to sell advertising around the product and get a payoff for the giant investment in live sports programming.

Media Play News reported that this arrangement will be the first time a streaming service will have a program measured as part of Nielsen’s National TV measurement service. The weekly games will be measured and processed like all other NFL games, using Nielsen’s panel. It will allow for the same metrics to be reported across all other national networks, continued trending, and comparability.

Amazon’s Thursday Night Football schedule is set to start with the week 2 matchup between the LA Chargers and Kansas City Chiefs. See the full schedule below.
