Yes, I know. It’s the Mandalorian. As Thor says Starlord at the end of Infiniti War “Of Course” it is. But for millions in the cult of Baby Yoda, including some of the bravest men and women in the country, the show is all about the child. And it returns to your TV screen today in probably the most anticipated event on Disney+.
The most beloved Star Wars story since The Empire Strikes Back begins its second season run Friday and this season we get to see more of that black lightsaber. The show will be available weekly on a traditional weekly rollout. The idea shocked streaming fans last season but turned out to be such a good idea that Amazon adopted it for this season of the boys. The traditional rollout allows buzz to build between episodes and serves the house of mouse very well when there are major Marvel movie releases weaved in as well. Right now the only major Disney property anybody will be talking about is The (Baby Yoda show) Mandalorian. Its memes will dominate Facebook, and mentions will dominate Twitter.
