What Happened To Noobs And Nerds? – The Streaming Advisor

What Happened To Noobs And Nerds?

What happened to Noobs and Nerds. According to a very reliable and knowledgeable source, the development team behind Noobs and Nerds, a website/forum and 3rd party Kodi addon repo have received a cease and desist letter in regards to their work. The Alliance for Creativity and Entertainment (ACE) was behind the letters.

The Noobs and Nerds website has been taken down. This is what visitors to the site see at the moment.

Noobs and Nerds, the group behind the Kodi addon called the community Installer was connected to many other developers.

Other people associated with Kodi third-party add-ons recieved letters. Some have publicly decided to get out of the game before any sort of lawsuit comes their way.

What Happened To Noobs And Nerds will happen Again

Besides developers, Torrent Freak reported that YouTubers who promote piracy through Kodi have also received letters. One developer and YouTuber who calls himself Teverz publically blew off his letter and may be setting himself up for trouble. He took to Twitter to say “Take me to court”. Because of the growth in digital piracy, the legitimate copyright holders in the TV and Film world have been getting much more aggressive. They have targeted websites and developers who push the distribution of copyrighted material for profit. A number of lawsuits have been filed over the past few years. Studios have begun to look at companies that sell Android boxes as well as developers who promote apps meant to distribute content. Oddly enough there are a number of developers who don’t see the writing on the wall.

What developers who take this approach don’t seem to understand is that even going to court against an organized and well-backed plaintiff costs money.

We expect to see more popular YouTube personalities contacted in the coming months. ACE is not playing games here. The Streaming Advisor will continue to follow this story as it continues to develop.
