Amazon is rolling forward in 2018 with a number of new titles in March. Along with the re-entry of some of 007 films, Amazon is also diving further into Science fiction with the mini-series The Infinite Worlds of H.G. Wells and the 2017 movie Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets along with Zathura: A Space Adventure. The later is a story centered around kids who start playing a board game that turns out to be a magical portal that thrusts them into the middle of a space adventure. If you are wondering it is almost a shot by shot remake of the original Jumanji movie minus Robin Williams.
Overall there are 17 movies dropping onto Amazon’s Prime movie selection from 2017 including the much buzzed about Power Rangers reboot. Amazon also brings original content to the forefront.
Brad’s Status: The Amazon Original Movie stars Ben Stiller. A trip to Boston with his college bound son triggers a crisis of confidence for Brad Sloan as he reassesses his own life choices in a bittersweet comedy from writer and director Mike White. (March 2)
Sneaky Pete S2: The Prime Original Series stars Giovanni Ribisi and follows Marius who has been disguising himself as Pete to escape his past. Marius now finds himself answering for Pete’s past when thugs threaten to kill the Bernhardts if he doesn’t take them to Pete’s mother, who apparently stole millions from her employer. Sneaky Pete season two is available in HDR on compatible HDR devices. (March 9)
The Dangerous Book for Boys S1: The Prime Original Series is based on Conn and Hal Iggulden’s book, and follows a boy named Wyatt and his brothers as they deal with the death of their father. He leaves his sons a copy of “The Dangerous Book for Boys,” which inspires a fantasy world in which Wyatt reconnects with his father while learning important life lessons. The Dangerous Book for Boys season one is available in HDR on compatible HDR devices. (March TBD)
The Remix S1: The Prime Original Series is the new sound of Indian music! On this music competition show, some of the coolest musicians rejig, reshuffle and remix popular Bollywood songs. The ten competing teams give it their all to put out riveting performances to impress the celebrity judges: Sunidhi Chauhan, Amit Trivedi and Nucleya! (Feb. 9)
