New Roku Ultra Coming Soon

Roku’s first big hardware update since 2021 is on the way. At the Roku developers conference, Roku announced a new model for its top-tier streamer The Roku Ultra. The updated product promises faster performance all-new quad core processor to support 4K, HDR10+ streaming, Dolby Vision, and Dolby Atmos. An updated CPU will also help the streamer avoid problems like screen blurring or blinking as users launch content that uses higher and lower standards, like switching from 4k HDR to True HD or standard definition.

The new Roku Ultra ships with an updated Roku Remote Pro with backlit buttons and a guide launcher.

The new model will also ship with an updated Roku Remote Pro with extra buttons such as a guide button that launches Roku’s live Internet channels, and backlit buttons to help users see them in the dark. Returning features include a microphone for voice commands both remotely and by using the mic button, volume and power controls, quick launch buttons for selected apps, and personal launch buttons that allow users to program in anything from apps to specific settings.

And possibly the best feature Roku ever innovated the remote finder. Users can choose to press a button on the Roku streamer itself or ask verbally “Roku where is my remote?” provided that the user has the mic switched on. The remote also uses a USB C port to recharge meaning no batteries to keep up with and replace.

Bluetooth support

Headphone Mode goes wireless with the new Ultra. Users can pair and listen to your content with your favorite Bluetooth® headphones. This is great for users who have specific hearing needs.

Overall it is a solid update to an already strong product. The new Roku Ultra will hit stores and the Roku website this fall.
