There were a record number of cord-cutters in the third quarter of 2022. According to MoffettNathan 655K subscribers dropped their service in the 3-month period. It should be noted that the firm includes not only traditional cable and satellite services in its cord-cutting numbers, but also services like Hulu with Live TV, Sling TV, Fubo TV, and YouTube TV. Those services that are Internet-delivered cable services in everything but name only are sometimes seen as cord-cutting services.
The third quarter of the year is never kind to TV providers. Last year the thrid quarter saw 617K drop their services.
What is not reported the numbers is how many customers there were signed up in total ahead of the losses.
