The Crown Will Not Wrap Until 2022 – The Streaming Advisor

The Crown Will Not Wrap Until 2022

Netflix announced that The Crown will take a break after season 4, which is expected to stream in 2020. The service says that season 5 will be available in 2022. The drama, which follows the Brittish Royal family is said to be looking to the 80’s when it returns. This will give fans a chance to see the show take on Princes Diana and the spate of divorces that hit the royals during the period. And in a couple of years we will have a chance to look back at now.  Emma Corrin will play Lady Diana when the show returns while the iconic Margaret Thatcher will be in the hands of X-Files alum Gillian Anderson. Seasons five and six will take the story into the 2000s.

While there have been breaks in between previous season’s the planned stoppage could not come at a better time for the service. Though Netflix did not indicate the current pandemic was at fault, The Crown like other shows would likely be affected by COVID-19 based problems and restrictions if it were to be on a tight schedule at the moment.
