Former WWE Stars Hulk Hogan and Titus O’Neil will host WWE’s signature event Wrestlemania which will take place Saturday, April 10 and Sunday, April 11, 2021. The event will be held at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa Bay, an outdoor venue. The two-night event will stream live exclusively on Peacock at 8 pm ET in the United States and on WWE Network everywhere else.
The WWE recently announced that its content and major live events would be moving to Peacock for its US customers as part of a move that will involve shuttering the WWE Network app in the US. Customers will be able to access the event and all future events through Peacock at a price of $4.99 per month which is half the cost of the WWE Network as a standalone service. The cost will also cover access to all of Peacock’s premium programming options with commercials included. Fans who want to further explore Peacock without commercials can pay $9.99 to do so.
The hosting duties put two major company personalities at the forefront. Titus O’Neil is one of the most philanthropic Superstars in WWE history. A fixture in the Tampa Bay community and passionate about giving back to families in need, O’Neil founded The Bullard Family Foundation, an organization that provides families and children in need with special moments, programs, and resources to help build character, develop relationships, and strengthen communities around them. In addition, O’Neil is an Ambassador for WWE helping thousands of individuals through various nonprofits and WWE partners including Susan G. Komen, Boys & Girls Clubs of America and Special Olympics. His passion for community and uplifting others inspired him to write his first book, “There’s No Such Thing as a Bad Kid: How I Went from Stereotype to Prototype” in 2019. O’Neil is a Tampa Bay native and graduated from the University of Florida where he was a standout football player for the Gators.
Hogan was one of the first crossover stars in professional wrestling serving as the face of the company during its meteoric rise in the 1980s and early 90s gracing the covers of magazines, comic books, Lunchboxes and even featured on Saturday morning cartoons. Hogan made appearances on national TV shows, and stared in movies and TV shows as well as a memorable appearance in Rocky 3 with fellow Wrestlemania participant Mr. T. His rise paved the way for the generation of stars who have found their way into the movie and TV business like Dwayne Johnson and John Cena. During his days in the ring, Hogan was part of the most well-attended event in the history of the Pontiac Silverdome wrestling Andre The Giant in front of a record 93,173.
