YouTube Ad-Free App Shutting Down

Vanced, an Android app that allows customers to access YouTube without viewing ads is shutting down. According to The Verge The shutdown is not voluntary.

“We were asked to remove all references to ‘YouTube’, change the logo, and remove all links related to YouTube products,” says an admin from the Vanced team in a Discord message to The Verge.

Considering the way the app was set up to work that should not be particularly surprising. Wow free YouTube makes its money from the short ads that play along with the video content. Aside from third-party sponsorships advertising is also the primary way that YouTube creators, including The Streaming Advisor’s own YouTube channel are paid for their work, which Vanced users apparently appreciate but just didn’t want to pay for.
