There was a lot of fanfare when PBS became available on YouTube TV because it was the first time the channel was available via one of the streaming services meant to replace cable. But for those who were trying to save money by not paying big bucks for TV it was not such a great day. Well now many of those people who would like to see PBS without depending on an antenna have a brand new free option to do so without playing games with any shady operations. PBS allows 85 TV markets to access their PBS stations through its app and all you need to use it is a free PBS account. This access does not grant users the ability to watch every TV program listed in the app, that is a different service all together called passport. But PBS has a new live TV tab in the app that will launch your local station in one click.
