IMDB TV Is Flying High For Amazon

It looks like people really like watching content for free. 120 million people are using Amazon’s ad-supported OTT per month. According to Amazon the company sextupled its OTT growth in the past year.

IMDb TV has seen a 138% increase in viewership year over year, 62% of IMDb TV viewers are age 18-49 and IMDb TV viewers spend 5.5 hours per week on average on the free streaming service.

That’s a lot of TV watching from one platform and does not include the number of people who access Amazon’s premium streaming service. But even without a charge Amazon is still offering original content from Amazon Studios. The service has grown during the pandemic as users started to look for ways to enjoy TV without spending too much money.  Judge Judy will be jumping on the free platform with a new court-based show.

IMDB TV is built into Amazon’s Fire TV devices and also features in its Amazon Prime Video app. Google IOS and Android plus Roku.
