We will see the last season of the Marvel/Netflix projects this June when Jessica Jones gets its third season starting Friday, June 14. It will be very interesting to see how Netflix markets the project which will be the last of a number of Marvel based series that Netflix launched starting with Daredevil. The streaming company built up a shared universe based in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and gave fans the first on-screen version of “The Defenders.”
But in the wake of Disney’s plans for Disney+ the big red machine cancelled any plans to move forward with the characters it developed as on-screen personalities including Jones, Luke Cage, The Punisher and Iron Fist. Despite the popularity of the shows due to what appears to be a maneuver built around brand confusion and its prevention more than anything else.
