Sling TV has made some major updates across platforms that will change the way people interact with it. First of all more Roku devices are seeing the updated look and feel of the system. Roku stick plus has gotten the update that brings the system up to the same standard found on the Roku Ultra.
The Apple side of things has also gotten a big upgrade. Apple TV and iOS devices now have access to the updated Sling interface. On top of that the iOS devices also now have access to Locast within the Sling TV grid.
Locast is a free service that allows users to stream locally available over the air channels with just their Internet connection. While customers who do not make a donation to the service will have to see regular donation requests as little as a five dollar donation allows customers to watch without Being guarded for anything. They still have to watch the commercials for everything else though.
both moves add new functionality for iOS users. The Locast update is not available though for Apple TV devices.
