Did you get left out of the big Amazon Fire TV OS update this year. Don’t worry. Most people with Fire TVTV devices did. That will change in March when all FIre TV devices made as recently as 2017 will get the update.
The change does not disable any current features nor does it add any. What the update does is change the location of a few things and tries to make it easier to find content in the ever changing streaming landscape. This is hardly the first time the Fire TV has been updated since its initial Plex like debut. As Fire TV has added new features the horizontal menu at the top of the screen has grown longer than the top of the screen would support.
Once the update is active users will be able to access it by going to their settings menu, selecting My Fire TV, selecting About and then check for updates. Otherwise the system may even update on its own. The key is to make sure that the update can be done without loosing power in the middle of the process. So do not innitate it during a storm.
The streaming Advisor posted a video that shows how the two setups differ. You can see it here.
