Spotify Going After Music Pirates – The Streaming Advisor

Spotify Going After Music Pirates

Spotify is going after music pirates and letting them know about it. in a politely worded email, the company is letting users who bypass the paywall of its service via third-party apps that their accounts can be terminated if they continue to break the terms of service.

Spotify is one of many music streaming services available across multiple app platforms but is the first to address this issue in this way. Users who have been using apps to circumvent the premium requirements are not being penalized at the moment.

Might this be the beginning of a streaming industry crackdown on things like account sharing, and other activities that many people participate in to save money. We will continue to monitor this story.
