She Huks All But Confirms Netflix Series Are Cannon

Disney+ is the current home of the various series that used to call Netflix home. If you are unaware, long before Disney+ launched Netflix brought multiple Marvel characters to the small screen including Daredevil, Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, Iron Fist and The Punisher. The shows were gritty R-Rated fare and were billed as part of the MCU. Disney+ gives the shows their own section in the Marvel neighborhood and classifies the grouping of those shows as the Defenders Saga.

Since the series made the move Disney has even announced that there will be a new Daredevil series on the streamer. But Despite the shows being billed as part of the MCU early on, and a number of references to MCU events within the shows, a tiresome debate began to emerge around whether the shows were truly part of the MCU based on superficial conjecture like “Hey why didn’t Spider-Man ever meet Daredevil” and things like that. Disney never quieted the fan-led debate either. Maybe because the shows were on Netflix. But years after the debut of Daredevil on Netflix out pops Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) in the MCU film Spider-Man No Way Home,  to represent Peter Parker, powers in hand. Later we see his nemesis Kingpin/Wilson Fisk (Vincent D’onofrio) in the Disney+ series Hawkeye. Even with both instances fans still contended that the characters could be new versions of the characters simply played by the same actors.

While we won’t know if all of the characters from the Netflix series will be brought along we can most definitely say that yes, Daredevil and Kingpin as seen on Disney+ are in fact the very same characters and depictions from their earlier series. Disney confirmed this recently and even more so as they have done in the past episode 8 of She Hulk used a musical cue just to drive it home. Does that mean we will see Luke Cage or The Punnisher? We will have to wait. But Disney must have brought those shows over for some reason.
