What is VUniverse? No that is not a typo. Think of it as Viewniverse. It is an app and website designed to help people find something to stream. It is designed to cull 60 or so apps and tell users where to find the content they are looking for.
Unfortunately it looks like the app is not ready for primetime despite already being available on IOS, Andoid TV and Android mobile. At this point the app is way behind Just watch, Realgood and a host of other tools for finding content.
First of all the app and website are very slow. The site and the app have been very laggy and not loading meta data and artwork. See the picture bellow where we should be given a row of things I should probably watch. I guess Vuniverse thinks there is nothing available I would like. Notice the missing art for Baadasssss!
The app fails to display the actual services that have access to content. For instance we looked for content that we confirmed was on Hulu and it only suggested we buy it from Vudu. We searched for Netflix originals and it didn’t even provide a source to watch it much less recommend Netflix.
I wish I could say that these things were not hampering the experience. But at the moment the Vuniverse app fails to deliver on the basic premise of the app itself.
