Freevee Gets New Apple TV App

Amazon’s free streaming service, Freevee will be jumping in with Apple TV with a dedicated app. The service which is a rebrand of the app known as IMDB TV, offers free movies and TV shows including some of Amazon’s original programming and Freevee exclusives like Judy Justice staring Judge Judy.

This is actually the third name for Amazon’s FAST, which originally launched as FreeDrive. The new name though makes the purpose of the app a little more clear. Freevee sound like Free TV, while for instance IMDB TV sounded more like it was a TV version of the service where you could figure out where you had seen that guy before. More info below.

 

  • Amazon Freevee features ambitious originals from the award-winning Amazon Studios, including the recently launched crime drama Bosch: Legacy and second season of buddy-cop drama Pretty Hard Cases. The free streaming service also features an extensive and always updating library of hit movies and television including popular favorites such as Deal or No DealBewitchedShark Tale, and Logan.
  • The Freevee app is also available on iPhone, iPad, and Android mobile devices, as well as Roku, Samsung smart TVs (2017-2021 models), Comcast’s Xfinity Flex, Xfinity X1, Chromecast with Google TV, NVIDIA SHIELD, and other Android TV devices, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 consoles, and LG Smart TVs (2018-2021 models).
  • In addition to third-party devices, Freevee is available as an app on Fire TV, Fire Tablets, and a free Channel within the Prime Video app across hundreds of devices.
